What is clssy?
Clssy is the place for in person learning outside of the university setting. Any passionate person with something to share can be a teacher, whether that's a chef, musician, graphic designer, student or even a professor. The classes take place all over: people's homes, businesses, schools, public spaces or simply outside, and everyone's welcome as a student, people of all ages and from all different backgrounds.
Why is clssy neccesary?
Too often people have a negative association with education from their past, and after university, the encouragement and opportunities to keep learning disappear. People feel like it’s too late to learn something new, that they’re simply not able or that it’s too intimidating. The barriers to attend, complete or return to university are just too much for many.
We’re all taught as kids that school is something you’re forced to do, whether or not it meets your individual needs and whether or not you even enjoy its current form. This sticks with us as adults and often becomes something we want to escape, to complete and put behind us or to hide from.
Learning needs to be encouraged, personalized, accessible and acceptable at all ages, and it needs to be everywhere. Learning is about discovery and exploration and that should always be exciting. It’s just the beginning for clssy, but we are working to create positive learning experiences everywhere, ones that change people’s perceptions and empower them, people of all ages and from all backgrounds.

What if I've never taught before?

Your class can be hands-on and interactive—a social gathering of sorts. Don't feel pressure to conform to that traditional classroom setting or to be overly formal. Have fun with it and the students will too. A love for what you do is your best tool.
I want to teach a class but don’t have the space.

What if no students are registering for my class?
Social media like Facebook and Twitter are a great way to spread the word about your class. Also, make sure that your class looks appealing. Your pictures and content are important. They should be interesting and informative to inspire confidence in your class and in you as a teacher, i.e. no typos. Try browsing through other classes to get a better idea of what works.
